Wednesdays just go better! 

Midweek Southside makes the middle of your week a little easier and a lot more meaningful.

Beginning at 4:30 PM, children can arrive for an afternoon filled with movement, games, music, friendship, and age-appropriate faith conversations. Then, at 5:45 PM, families and neighbors come together around the table for an affordable Family Dinner.

After dinner, children, students, and adults can stay for groups, classes, choir, and opportunities to connect and grow.

Kids come for the afternoon. Families meet us for dinner. Everyone stay for a group.

Dinner is served!

One of our favorite parts of Midweek Southside is simply getting everyone around the table together. There will be plenty of good conversation, familiar faces, new friends, and one less dinner for you to cook this week.

Updated menu for today is: Herb and Onion Chicken, broccoli casserole, and Spanish rice

Family Dinner begins at 5:45 PM and everyone is welcome. 

Dinner is $5 per person with a $20 family maximum. Pay online at smcjax.org/giveand select Wednesday Night Dinner, scan the QR code, or pay with cash at dinner.

Grab a plate. Find a seat. Stay awhile.

Get those costumes ready because one of our favorite fall nights is back!

Join us Saturday, October 24 for an evening of candy, costumes, food, and a movie under the stars.

We’ll kick things off with Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the Hendricks Ave. parking lot. Kids can make their way from trunk to trunk collecting plenty of treats, so be sure to bring your own candy bag. Then we’ll head over to the Point for Movie on the Point beginning at 6:45 PM. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, find a cozy spot, and settle in for a fun family movie night together.

Hungry? $5 hot dog meals will be available for purchase and include a hot dog, chips, and your choice of soda or water.

On All Saints Sunday, we pause to remember and give thanks for the lives of Southside members who have gone before us into eternal life this past year.

During worship, we will honor their memory, celebrate the faith they shared, and find comfort in God's promise of everlasting life.

We invite you to join us for this meaningful time of remembrance, gratitude, and hope.

Bring Your Best Dish!

Almost every Thanksgiving table has one favorite: the dressing/stuffing recipe.

Maybe it came from your grandmother. Maybe you’ve perfected it over the years. Maybe your family insists yours is better than everyone else’s.

On Wednesday, November 4, we’re putting those claims to the test with our first-ever Midweek Southside Dressing Cook-Off!

Register to enter your favorite Thanksgiving dressing and compete for 1st Place, 2nd Place, or the all-important People’s Choice ribbon. Each contestant should bring one ready-to-eat pan of dressing with enough for at least 50 tasting samples.

Not planning to enter? Even better, come and help us vote for the People’s Choice ribbon!

Come for dinner, stay for the friendly competition, and help us decide which dressing deserves Southside bragging rights.

Sent Student Retreat

Hey Southside Students, join us for a weekend away at Epworth by the Sea with Middle and High School students from other area Global Methodist churches.

We’ll spend the weekend growing in faith, building friendships, and exploring what it means to live SENT by Jesus.
