SOUTHSIDE
Visiting a church for the first time usually comes with a few questions.
We want to make your first Sunday at Southside simple, comfortable, and easy to navigate.
Southside Methodist Church is a Bible-believing Global Methodist Church in Jacksonville’s San Marco neighborhood, with contemporary worship at 9:00 AM and traditional worship at 11:00 AM.
YOUR FIRST SUNDAY AT SOUTHSIDE
When You Arrive
We’ll help you know where to park, where to enter, and where to go once you’re inside. Our Sunday worship services begin at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, and arriving about 10 to 15 minutes early will give you plenty of time to get settled.
What to Wear
Come in whatever feels comfortable. You’ll see everything from jeans and casual clothes at the 9:00 AM service to dresses, jackets, and ties at the 11:00 AM service. There’s no dress code and no expectation that you need to look a certain way to be here.
What Worship Is Like
Both Sunday services last about an hour and include music, prayer, Scripture, and a Biblical message. You won’t be asked to stand up and introduce yourself or do anything that puts you on the spot.
SUNDAYS
9:00 AM Contemporary Worship
Modern worship music led by our praise team, along with prayer, Scripture, and a biblical message in a relaxed setting.
11:00 AM Traditional Worship
Traditional hymns and music led by choir and organ, along with prayer, Scripture, and the same focus on biblical teaching.
Both services are multigenerational, and you are welcome at either one.
11:00 AM TRADITIONAL
VISITING WITH KIDS?
Children are always welcome to worship with their families at Southside. We also offer Southside Kids for children from nursery through 5th grade, with age-appropriate care, activities, and faith-filled experiences designed to help kids feel safe, known, and excited to be here.
Our nursery is available for our youngest children, and older kids have opportunities to learn, worship, and grow in ways created just for them.
