A Church for People of All Abilities

Southside is continuing to grow as a church where people with disabilities and their families are not only welcomed, but known, loved, and included.

 

Our Friends Disability Ministry helps create spaces where children, students, and adults with disabilities can participate in the life of the church through worship, discipleship, friendship, and meaningful connection.

 

We are learning, growing, and listening as we seek to better support individuals and families with disabilities. If there is something that would make your visit easier, more comfortable, or more meaningful, we want to hear from you.

Events and Happenings

WORSHIP NIGHT

Once a month, Friends Ministry hosts a worship night for people of all abilities on the Happy Brew lawn.

 

This casual, joyful gathering is designed to create space for worship, friendship, community, and belonging. Everyone is welcome.

 

When: The 3rd Wednesday of the Month at 5:15 PM
Where: Happy Brew lawn at Southside Methodist Church
Who: People of all abilities, families, friends, volunteers, and anyone who wants to worship together in a welcoming environment

CAPERNAUM CLUB

Capernaum gives young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships, and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through club, camp, and other activities.

beFriend 99 Balloons

beFriend is a place where adults with and without disabilities gather with the sole purpose of building community, establishing new friendships, and hanging out as adult friends. Join us!
