CHILDRENS MINISTRY AT SOUTHSIDE

Southside Kids is designed to partner with parents to help children move towards God. Children ages birth through 5th grade will enter a caring environment filled with amazing leaders and crew members ready to teach them about God’s love. We offer exciting and fun-filled services that explore God’s Word, introduce children to meaningful and energy-charged worship, and challenge them to really get to know Jesus! 

 

Join us for the Parent Lab

Parenting was never meant to be done alone, and this fall Southside Kids is creating new ways to support families as children grow in faith.

 

Parents and caregivers are invited to join Natalie Seitz for two Parent Lab sessions on Sundays, August 9 and 16, at 10:00 AM in the Family Life Center. Together, we will talk about the vision for Southside Kids, what children will experience on Sundays and Wednesdays, important faith milestones, our new Amazing+ curriculum and family app, and practical ways parents and the church can partner together.

 

While parents are in the Lab, children will enjoy a special Faith Adventure Sunday School experience created just for them.

 

Come meet Natalie, ask questions, connect with other parents, and get ready for an exciting year ahead.

Get ready for a month of imagination, discovery, and faith-filled fun! 

 

Beginning Sunday, August 9, Southside Kids will embark on a new adventure each week as we discover that following Jesus is the greatest adventure of all.

 

Kids will experiment with God’s unchanging truth in the Mad Scientist Lab, learn to be strong and courageous at Camp Adventure, discover what makes a real hero at Hero Headquarters, and blast off on a Mission to the Moon as they learn that every child has a mission to share God’s love.

 

Join us during the 10:00 AM Sunday School hour:

August 9: Mad Scientist Lab
August 16: Camp Adventure
August 23: CHECK POINT Southside Fall Expo for the whole family
August 30: Hero Headquarters
September 6: Mission to the Moon

 

Each Sunday will include a Bible story, games, hands-on activities, and plenty of surprises as we count down to our September 13 Promotion Sunday and the launch of Amazing+.

Hey there! We look forward to your kids getting connected here at Southside where they can grow in their relationship with Jesus and one another. Our goal is to partner with parents to develop kids’ faith.

 

Starting in the Fall the  2026 - 2027 Children’s Sunday School classes meet each Sunday at 10 a.m. for children in PreK3 through 5th grade. These classes focus on four key areas: connecting with each other and with God’s Word, studying God’s Word together, interacting with Scripture to discover key themes and takeaways, and responding to God’s Word by applying it to daily life.

Introducing the Littlest Angels Church Choir, where kids in PreK3, PreK4, and Kindergarten can discover the joy of music in the most delightful way. Please note: Kids that turn 3 after Sept 1st are not old enough.

 

Littlest Angels Church Choir offers your kids a chance to develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love for music. Plus, they'll make friends and memories that'll last a lifetime.

Join the Kids Praise Team

Introducing the Kids Praise Team, an amazing squad where all 1st - 5th graders can come together to make awesome music and have a blast!

 

We're diving into the world of modern worship music that'll make your heart sing. You'll get to learn cool tunes, play some instruments, show off those incredible vocals, and even lead worship for the congregation and Children’s Church. How cool is that?

 

To join the fun, just show up at the Chapel on Wednesdays at 5:00 pm - 5:45 pm. No need to worry about auditions, your passion for music is all you need!

Visiting us for the first time? No fear! Our friendly Greeting Team will lead you in your next steps when you arrive. We will meet your family and give you all the information you need about Children's Church, Kids Life Groups, nursery and more.  We can't wait to meet you!

SAFETY

Volunteers and staff at Southside are background screened and trained to create an atmosphere where families can be confident that their children are always nurtured and well cared for. We follow a detailed Child Protection Policy designed to keep all children in our care safe at all times.

WHAT WE TEACH

Your kids will experience an age appropriate lesson that will teach them about God and His love for them. The teaching is interactive and utilizes multiple approaches for different learning styles. Weekly kids teaching is aligned with the sermon topic and the adult Life Groups so everyone is on the same page. Our goal is for kids to have fun and understand who Jesus is and how He can make a difference in their lives.
